Following the success of the award-winning The Little Book of Prison: A Beginners Guide, it is with the greatest pleasure that we invite you to the launch of Frankie Owens’ new book Why I Chase Comedians and Other Bipolar Tales. You may attend in person or online.
The book has dual purposes:
Mental Health Awareness – it aims to celebrate the gifts mental health challenges can bring and help society to understand mental health and become better informed.
Combating Illiteracy – sales of the book help fund the Read and Grow Society and its ambition to set up community literacy projects across the UK www.readandgrowsociety.org
A celebration including wine tasting, live music, stand-up comedy and guest speakers.
Our host will be Noel Razor Smith, whose best-selling books include A Few Kind Words and a Loaded Gun: The Autobiography of a Career Criminal (Penguin, 2005). As a journalist he has contributed to the national press and works for the highly respected prison newspaper Inside Time.
Thursday 23rd June 2022 at 7pm.
John Pound Centre, 23 Queen Street, Portsea, PO1 3HN; and online.
