3. Your Order and Our Contract
3.1. Placing an Order: By placing an order through our website, you are making an offer to purchase the goods detailed in your order.
3.2. Order Acceptance: All orders are subject to acceptance by us. We will confirm our acceptance by sending you an email that confirms the goods have been despatched (the “Despatch Confirmation”). The contract between us (“Contract”) will only be formed when we send you the Despatch Confirmation.
3.3. If We Cannot Accept Your Order: If we are unable to supply you with a product (for example, because that product is not in stock or no longer available, or because of an error in the price on our website), we will inform you of this by email and we will not process your order. If you have already paid for the products, we will refund you the full amount, including any delivery costs charged, as soon as possible.
4. Price and Payment
4.1. Product Prices: The prices of the products will be as quoted on our website at the time you submit your order. We take all reasonable care to ensure that the prices of products are correct at the time when the relevant information was entered onto the system.
4.2. VAT: All prices are stated in GBP (£) and include VAT (Value Added Tax) at the current UK rate where applicable. For other countries, we may have to charge you VAT at your local rate – please see Taxes for further details.
4.3. Delivery Costs: Delivery costs are not included in the price of the products. Our delivery charges are set out separately on our Delivery Information page and will be added to the total amount due at the checkout.
4.4. Payment Methods: We accept payment via major credit/debit cards, PayPal, and bank transfer. We only accept card payment using our secure online checkout (we no longer accept cards by telephone). You must pay for the products and any applicable delivery charges before we despatch them.
5. Delivery
5.1. Delivery Location: We deliver to addresses within the UK, EU and most international destinations as listed on our Delivery page.
5.2. Delivery Timescales: We aim to dispatch orders within 1-2 business days. In some cases, books are printed to order and this is reflected in the longer estimated time to despatch listed on the product page. Delivery times will vary depending on the destination and the shipping method chosen. Estimated delivery times are provided on our Delivery page. Please note that these are estimates and not guarantees.
5.3. Risk: A product will be your responsibility from the time we deliver the product to the address you gave us. You own a product once we have received payment in full and delivered the product.
5.4. Delays Outside Our Control: If our supply of the products is delayed by an event outside our control (e.g., postal strikes, severe weather), then we will contact you as soon as possible to let you know and we will take steps to minimise the effect of the delay. Provided we do this, we will not be liable for delays caused by the event, but if there is a risk of substantial delay, you may contact us to end the Contract and receive a refund for any products you have paid for but not received.
6. Your Right to Cancel (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013)
6.1. Right to Change Your Mind (UK/EU Consumers): If you are a consumer in the UK or EU, you have a legal right to change your mind and cancel your Contract within 14 days without giving any reason.
6.2. Cancellation Period: The cancellation period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire physical possession of the goods. If you order multiple goods in one order, or goods are delivered in separate parts, the 14-day period runs from when you receive the last item.
6.3. How to Cancel: To exercise your right to cancel, you must inform us of your decision by a clear statement (e.g., a letter sent by post, fax, or email). You can use the model cancellation form provided by consumer law (available online), but it is not obligatory. Our contact details are provided on our contact page.
6.4 Effect of Cancellation: If you cancel this Contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (with the exception of the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us). We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.
6.5. Reimbursement: We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than: (a) 14 days after the day we receive back from you any goods supplied; or (b) (if earlier) 14 days after the day you provide evidence that you have returned the goods; or (c) if there were no goods supplied, 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to cancel this contract.
6.6. Return of Goods After Cancellation: You must send back the goods without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your cancellation from this Contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired.
6.7. Cost of Return: You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods.
6.8. Goods Exempt from Cancellation: The right to cancel does not apply to: (a) Goods which are made to your specifications or are clearly personalised. (b) Sealed audio or sealed video recordings or sealed computer software which were unsealed after delivery. (c) Newspapers, periodicals or magazines (except for subscription contracts). (d) Services, once they have been fully performed, if you agreed when you placed your order that we could start to perform them, and that you could not cancel once the service was fully performed. (e) Digital content (including e-books) not supplied on a tangible medium if the performance has begun with your prior express consent and your acknowledgment that you thereby lose your right of cancellation.
7. Our Returns and Refund Policy
7.1. Faulty or Misdescribed Goods (Consumer Rights Act 2015): We are under a legal duty to supply products that are in conformity with this Contract. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for any particular purpose for which you buy them (where you make that purpose known to us), and as described.
7.2. Your Rights for Faulty/Misdescribed Goods: If the products you receive are faulty or misdescribed, you have the following rights: Short-Term Right to Reject (up to 30 days): You can reject the goods and get a full refund if they are faulty or misdescribed. Right to Repair or Replacement (after 30 days, up to 6 months): If you don’t reject the goods, you’re entitled to a repair or replacement. If a repair or replacement is not possible, or fails, you can claim a refund (reduced for any use you’ve had after six months). Right to Partial Refund or Reject (after 6 months): If the goods don’t last a reasonable time, you may be entitled to a partial refund or to reject them altogether.
7.3. How to Initiate a Return for Faulty/Misdescribed Goods: Please contact us immediately upon discovering a fault or misdescription using the contact details on our contact page. We will guide you through the return process, which may include providing photographic evidence of the fault.
7.4. Costs of Return for Faulty/Misdescribed Goods: If goods are faulty or misdescribed, we will pay the costs of return.
7.5. Refunds: We will process any refunds due to you in accordance with these terms, typically within 14 days of our agreement to the refund.
8. Limitation of Our Liability (for Supply of Goods)
8.1. We are responsible to you for foreseeable loss and damage caused by us. If we fail to comply with these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking this contract or our failing to use reasonable care and skill, but we are not responsible for any loss or damage that is not foreseeable. Loss or damage is foreseeable if either it is obvious that it will happen or if, at the time the contract was made, both we and you knew it might happen.
8.2. We do not exclude or limit in any way our liability to you where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or the negligence of our employees, agents or subcontractors; for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; for breach of your legal rights in relation to the products (as summarised in Section 7.1); and for defective products under the Consumer Protection Act 1987.
8.3. We only supply the products for domestic and private use. If you use the products for any commercial, business or re-sale purpose we will have no liability to you for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity.
9. Computer Offences
If you do anything which is a criminal offence including under a law called the Computer Misuse Act 1990, your right to use the site will end straightaway. We will report you to the relevant authorities and give them your identity.
Examples of computer misuse include introducing viruses, worms, Trojans and other technologically harmful or damaging material.
You mustn’t try to get access to our site or server or any connected database or make any ‘attack’ on the site. We won’t be legally responsible to you for any damage from viruses or other harmful material that you pick up via our site.

13.2 If any such dispute cannot be settled amicably through ordinary negotiations between the parties, or either or both is or are unwilling to engage in this process, either party may propose to the other in writing that structured negotiations be entered into with the assistance of a fully accredited mediator before resorting to litigation.
13.3 Any dispute shall not affect the parties’ ongoing obligations under these terms.
13.4 The English courts have the only right to hear claims related to our site (and any non-contractual matters arising from these terms), and all disputes are governed by English law.
