About the editor:
Carol Martin holds a masters degree in Criminal Justice Policy from the London School of Economics and has undertaken responsibilities as a justice of the peace, member of a prison Board of Visitors, criminal justice researcher and freelance consultant. She has worked within the criminal justice field in both a professional and lay capacity since 1980. Apart from her work on young and juvenile offenders, she has also undertaken research on drug use and drug rehabilitation in prisons, prison Boards of Visitors, day visits to prison for young offenders ('Scared Straight' programmes), equal opportunities policies in the police and crime prevention and community safety.
